Transparent management of grower funds, and the equitable distribution of grower payments, is managed by grower-controlled supply entity Seeka Growers Limited. By clearly delineating fruit value from service delivery, the Seeka supply model places growers in a strong position to negotiate service costs, monitor service performance, and decide on the best strategy for funds distribution.
Seeka Growers is directed by an elected grower council, which is dedicated to maximise grower returns while managing risk.
Seeka Growers negotiates a seasonal service contract with Seeka Kiwifruit Industries Limited. When setting the service contract, they examine Seeka's cost models and monitor the provision of services throughout the season.
Supply from Seeka Growers Limited is consolidated with fruit from the Seeka-aligned suppliers OPAC, APAC and MPAC to the Zespri-registered supply entity IFSL. This delivers supplying growers the full advantages of contributing to the largest fully-integrated supply service.
Grower entity services team
Full management support to Seeka Growers is provided by Seeka's entity services team, with detailed financial reporting and analysis provided to the council and supplying growers from Geoff Carey.
The grower entity services team rapidly processes Zespri payments and keeps growers fully informed on forecast returns. At the end of each season, the team supplies growers with an audited set of accounts detailing receipts and payments for all product pools, plus an end-of-season financial statement for each KPIN.
The grower entity services team's accounting and reporting expertise is being called upon by grower bodies outside of the Seeka Group who contract their professional services.
