Organic kiwifruit are protected by the BioGro certification system that gives retailers and consumers confidence that they are buying a genuine organically-grown kiwifruit. The process from application to final certification takes a minimum of three years – the time required for non-organic chemical residuals to be virtually eliminated from the orchard. During this period the orchard is regularly monitored to ensure growing practices continually conform to well defined rules.
