Andrew re-joins the Seeka team after running his own business for the past eightyears. Previously involved in client relationship management and orchard leasing, Andrew grew up in Te Puke and has a sound understanding of the kiwifruit industry. He will have a client base across both conventional and organic growers throughout the central Bay of Plenty region.

Andrew has held a diverse range of roles in the kiwifruit industry since the early ‘80s, including: orchard contracting, orchard management and leasing, post-harvest and has owned a kiwifruit orchard. Andrew has also held numerous industry roles during his time at Seeka.

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Barry was introduced to the kiwifruit industry through the Waikato cadet scheme in 1987. He has managed kiwifruit orchards as well as developed his own. As a Client relationship manager, Barry’s portfolio has included a number of the Maori Trusts that supply Seeka. In 2014, he is also taking on the servicing of Seeka’s lease and managed orchard portfolio and is responsible for coordinating the publication of the Seeka grower newsletter.

Client Relationship Manager - Avocado

Ben started his career in produce in 1995 working for Turners & Growers, working his way up through the ranks starting in the Auckland wholesale market and eventually to the National Shipper role responsible for the avocado category.

Throughout his career in produce Ben has always been involved with the avocado categories and this has created his passion for avocados. Ben has always enjoyed dealing with the grower side of things so in his own admission has landed “his dream job” as an avocado CRM.

Garth Hoey

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Garth has been involved in the kiwifruit industry for 30 years playing parts in orchard development, kiwifruit packaging, and crop procurement in Gisborne to Kerikeri areas. Garth's focus is on developing new business in the Kerikeri and Opotiki areas as well as looking after his current portfolio of growers. Garth has played and coached rugby in the Tauranga and Mt Maunganui clubs. Garth and his wife Annette are owners of both Avocado and Kiwifruit orchards.

Hans Dirkse

Organic Category Manager

Previously to joining Seeka, Hans was an auditor for BioGro for over 20 years. Hans has also been an organic kiwifruit and avocado orchardist since 1989. Throughout the kiwifruit industry , Hans has held a number of positions, including membership of Katikati Fruit Growers executive, and  inaugural chairmanship of COKA. Hans is an advocate of all things organic. His focus is to ensure that the organic orchardists’ views are known within the industry, while ensuring that each individual organic orchard reaches it’s full potential.

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Jack began his career with Seeka in a contractor compliance role, and is now part of the CRM team. He is a graduate from Waikato University with a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in marketing and business management. Jack has a background in kiwifruit spanning 10 years both developing greenfields and helping to manage his father’s orchards in Te Puke and Waihau Bay. He also owns and manages his own orchard.

Jenni Wilson

Client Relationship Manager -Kiwifruit

Jenni has been involved in the kiwifruit industry since 1995. Jenni started out packing kiwifruit and moving through divisions of orchard management and post-harvest, increasing her depth of knowledge of the industry.  Jenni looks after our growers in the Tauranga North and Coromandel regions. Outside of Seeka, Jenni has recently retired from St John Ambulance after eight years as a volunteer however; she remains a volunteer for a Cambodian Charitable Trust and the Katikati Twilight Concert Committee.

Joe Brophy

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Waikato man, Joe, his wife and crop of four children, made the move to the BOP in 1985. Here, he has developed a strong understanding of the industry having worked in all facets over this time. Prior to joining team Seeka, Joe worked with other post harvest service providers, managed his own kiwifruit and avocado orchards as well as owned a management company for kiwifruit and avocados. As a retired squash coach, Joe has a passion for all sports, from sitting in front of the 'telly' with the rugby on to watching the grand kids sport.

Jonathan Dixon

Chief Technical Officer

Jonathan graduated with degrees in horticultural science from Massey University initially focussing on apples and then a broad range of other horticultural crops. He has managed large technical programmes and had extensive experience in working with technical experts in the plant sciences. Jonathan is keen to make sure kiwifruit technical support for growers is strongly sustained as the heart of Seeka’s Kiwifruit business. As Seeka expands its portfolio of crops his broad technical horticultural knowledge ensures Seeka keeps its industry leadership on technical issues. He is committed to best transferring information and new ideas to Seeka growers of kiwifruit and other crops.

Jonathan Dixon
Kylie Burt

Kiwiberry Category Manager

Kylie began her career at Seeka in 2014 in a technical position, working with Murray Judd and more latterly, Jonathan Dixon. During Kylie’s time in the technical team she has worked with projects on kiwifruit and avocado but took a particular shine to kiwiberry and has worked on a number of trials and projects pertaining to this crop. Kylie grew up in Te Puke, where her family have been involved in the kiwifruit industry as growers, for many years. She graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in 2007.

Lynnaire Avers

Avocado Category Manager 

Lynnaire has been involved in the kiwifruit industry since the 2004. Prior to this she held a position in the Environmental Sector as Programme Manager for 15 years. Lynnaire planted her first block of avocado’s in 2000 on her kiwifruit orchard.  It was at this point Lynnaire realised her interest in horticulture is particularly with avocado’s. In 2004, Lynnaire purchased a young avocado orchard of her own, recently has purchased an orchard with her partner and in 2009 purchased an orchard with her brother. Lynnaire says that the most enjoyable part of her role is "watching Seeka avocado growers succeed".

Nicky Edwards

Client Relaltionship Manager - Kiwifruit

Nicky has been a part of the kiwifruit industry since her involvement in the development of a large Hort 16A orchard in 2000. Nicky takes on a unique role with Seeka as both an orchard and client relationship manager, focused on the eastern catchment of Seeka’s growers. Nicky has had a serious case of the travel bug currently travelling to 136 countries in her time!

Peter Weaver

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Peter has played a prominent role in the kiwifruit industry since the ‘80s, beginning his portfolio of knowledge at a kiwifruit export company. From then on, Peter has owned and managed kiwifruit orchards, as well as held a range of management roles within post harvest division. In response to the intrusion of Psa in 2011, Peter was assigned Psa Manager. Accordingly, Peter is the liaison between Seeka and Kiwifruit Vine Health (KVH) as well as a CRM to his portfolio of growers.

Lease Account Manager

Peter has been in the industry since 1989 where he managed his own kiwifruit orchard. Peter joined Seeka in 2001 as the lease account manager, responsible for the contractual and financial aspects of Seeka's orchard leasing and management. Peter also looks after a portfolio of Seeka growers. Peter has a high level of involvement in the community, particulary with Te Puke St John Ambulance service.

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Steve left the corporate world of Auckland in 1979 to raise a family in the rural environment of Te Puke. Steve developed his first orchard in Te Puke and has been in volved in numerous orchards throughout the ensureing years. He now resides on a G3 lifestyle block. Steve joined the Seeka team in 1990 when he managed Pioneer coolstores in Mount Maunganui. Since then, Steve has cemented many enduring friendships through various sports clubs & Seeka client associates. Steve firmly believes that “Seeka is without a doubt the best equipped Post Harvest facility to face and conquer the challenges that lie ahead of this extremely exciting & invigorating industry”.

Client Relationship Manager - Kiwifruit

Steve has been in roles in the kiwifruit industry since the ‘70s, beginning employment at a kiwifruit export company – Dalgety Export. One of Steve’s most thrilling experiences in the industry was getting the first million trays out of Te Puke. Steve joined  Seeka when the amalgamation with Bridgecool occurred in 2005. Steve has watched the development and change in the industry over the years and believes that the industry holds a great heart. “We always manage to get through the challenges we are faced with, thanks to the support of our loyal growers”.
