Welcome to our latest edition of our grower update – updating you on the latest Seeka and Industry . Consistent weekly shipping since the completion of mainpack has meant the inventory management teams have been able to optimise the inventory. Across the industry the fruit loss statistics remain low. Low fruit loss means there is more fruit to sell.
The Gold3 shipping programme is 78% complete and by the end of this week there will be less than 10m trays remaining to ship to finish the shipping programme this season. The latest sales report has 61% of the programme sold compared to 58% at the same time last year. The Hayward conventional programme is 59% shipped and with 28m trays remaining to ship is on schedule for a tidy finish to this programme in late October/ early November; with 10m trays less to ship than the same time last year. Forty one percent of the Hayward conventional is sold; 5% ahead of the same time last year. The Hayward organic programme at 68% shipped has only 900K remaining to ship, with an expected finish approximately the same time as last year. Sales for the Hayward organic are at 39%, with a similar percentage sold at the same time last year.
On the orchards as the winter pruning is finishing up and we head into the next phase, many of you will be aware that the agrichemical spraying rules in the Bay of Plenty region are changing. Growers need to read and understand the new requirements which include new notification requirements, spray sensitive areas and sign requirements. If you don’t know where to find this information give your Client Relationship Manager a call and they will be able to help you.
