Frankly Speaking - MPI Submissions
15 March 2016

Stop Press – MPI is calling for submissions to changes to the Kiwifruit Regulations

Please be advised that the Ministry of Primary Industries is calling for submissions to proposed amendments to the Kiwifruit Regulations 1999. In doing so it has commissioned an independent review of Kiwifruit New Zealand and this the proposed changes are contained in two documents that you can download from the Seeka website – www.seeka.co.nz

MPI has received the responses from KISP, has considered the independent report has carefully thought its way through the issues and come up with a number of options for you to consider and provide feedback on. We would encourage you to review the documents, and provide a submission to MPI on your thoughts. This is a democratic process, your views are important and we would encourage you to make them.

Submissions must be in no later than 25 March 2015. And can be sent to kiwifruit.regulations@mpi.govt.nz

Seeka has considered its views on the specific questions asked and will provide these to you in the grower section of its website Tuesday lunchtime as promised at the Roadshows last week. This is a democratic process and every view is valid and important – please make yours known by way of submission.

Regards

Michael
