Frankly Speaking

Frankly Speaking - Week 39
2 October 2018

Please accept this update to our growers updating fruit performance and Industry issues. Both green and gold fruit continues to perform very well in store – fruit loss is very low with our Hayward slightly higher than Industry average and Gold3 slightly lower. But the levels and differences are very low.

Sales rates have lifted in the market but Seeka will still end this week with about double the normal Hayward volumes in store.

The team have updated their analysis on the recent Zespri market data and returns. These are shown for you below.

The uplift in volume sold through the last fortnight is excellent. This last period had the highest fortnightly sales volume reported year to date. The apparent decline in price [probably due to market mix] is a trend we are watching, as late sales are costly to growers with fruit loss the costs of checking and rework, lowering the grower return.

To our numbers [ended midnight 30 September]:
