Frankly Speaking - Week 12 Visiting packhouses

Visiting processing packhouses

We are sure that you have all been keeping abreast of the developments with the global pandemic – COVID-19 Coronavirus. It's hard to avoid the about it.

At Seeka we have been planning for a few weeks for how to react given various circumstances and developments. For example we are trying to bring the RSE workers to New Zealand earlier to avoid the circumstance that they face a travel or transit ban.

As part of those measures, we are now actively discouraging visitors to our packhouses. We respect the right of every grower to come and see their fruit being packed and if you want to then you are welcome. But at the same time we do not want to run the risk of inadvertent contamination and disruption to our processes, we don’t want to suffer the fall out of an event on its consequence on other growers, particularly as we head to main pack and critical load. Accordingly while you are welcome to attend to see your fruit being packed, we would ask you to consider not coming in this year. While we are hesitant to suggest this to you – we think it is a responsible request.

And I guess the Seeka app does give you up to the moment information and visibility of the packing operation. If you don’t have the app and want it then your CRM can help you get access.

Kind regards

Michael
