FRANKLY SPEAKING - WEEK 29 UPDATE [SUNDAY JULY 24]

Over the past week, 500K te of class 1 fruit was loaded out, with another 600K te scheduled for loading this week.  Following on from market discussions earlier in July, an updated shipping forecast has been received from Zespri.  The key change in this plan is the Gold 3 phasing (in particular China) moving out to week 40.  The Hayward Conventional programme is still scheduled to complete in week 48 with the majority of the shipping finishing in week 45.

The latest market report continues to show strong Gold 3 returns with a similar price to last year, in spite of a large volume increase.  However, Hayward returns from the market have continued to slide and the market price is currently 6.2% below last year.  This is likely to mean that the OGR predictions made at our recent roadshows are reinforced.

Fruit quality continues to track well.  Our Hayward at the wharf and in market, relative to other suppliers, is average. Our Gold 3 continues to track better than the average.

To the numbers [as at midnight 24 July]

Regards,

Michael
