Frankly Speaking – Week 14 Update Wednesday 6 April
There have been some important changes to the Hayward Kiwistart rates and we wanted to urgently update you.
As maturity across both green and gold continues to fall behind and the industry is 3.7 million trays behind, Zespri has revised the kiwistart rates for Hayward Conventional and Gold 3 Conventional from those advised on Monday. We have today had a significant volume of clearances including the first of the Hayward clearances in our traditionally early catchment.

Packaging Checking Process
Zespri has asked suppliers which have sourced plix from UPNZ to check and repack all packed Sungold International Trays for any possible contamination. Although the incidence of possible contamination is low, we will be checking and repacking our instore packed inventory Zespri G3 SunGold as at midnight Sunday night. All costs for the repacking are covered externally and along with any subsequent fruit loss which is expected to be zero. This is an Industry wide event that has affected all that use UPNZ components.
Happy and safe harvesting.
Regards
Michael
